DETRITUS
SELECTED IMAGES FROM THE PORTFOLIO
It may begin with a scrap of discarded paper, a colorful snip saved from the my studio floor, or found on the street among refuse of urban decay. Sometimes it begins with a photograph of something I find moving. Even an incidental scrap from a 50 year-old Peruvian newspaper can serve as the impetus. When I place this remnant with other elements, a "conservation" begins; a wordless dialogue between me and the materials at hand. And as the conversation unfolds, I never know where we are going until we get there.
