refuse of urban decay. Sometimes it begins with a photograph of something I find moving. Even an incidental scrap from a 50 year-old Peruvian newspaper can serve as the impetus. When I place this remnant with other elements, a "conservation" begins; a wordless dialogue between me and the materials at hand. And as the conversation unfolds, I never know where we are going until we get there.
